Hello everyone,
I'm having a persistent issue with Knight Online and I'm hoping the community can help me out. I've already tried some fixes, but now a new problem has appeared.
The Initial Problem:
I was playing Knight Online normally when, suddenly, the game crashed and started giving me this error upon launch:
"Can't create d3d device. Please check directx or display card driver."
What I did to fix it:
Following some advice, I performed these steps to resolve the "D3D device" error:
After doing the steps above, the "D3D device" error is gone! The game launches without that message. However, now a new issue occurs:
When the game starts loading (right after the launcher, or during the intro/character select screen), it just closes itself. No error message, no crash log, it just disappears.

Following some advice, I performed these steps to resolve the "D3D device" error:
- Clean Graphics Driver Reinstall: I used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode to completely remove my old drivers. Then, I installed the latest driver for my graphics card (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel).
- DirectX Repair/Install: I downloaded and ran the "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" from Microsoft to ensure all the legacy DirectX components needed for KO were present.
- Configuration Tweaks: I set the game's .exe (KnightOnLine.exe) to "Run as administrator" and forced it to use my "High-performance" dedicated GPU in the Windows Graphics Settings.

I have already tried:
- Changing the desktop resolution before launching.
- Running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows 8.
- Disabling my Antivirus/Firewall temporarily.
